Bud I. Gibbs, 80, a resident of Davenport, died Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Davenport.
Private family services will be held at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on July 26, 1935 in Yoder, Wyoming, Bud was the son of Lowell and Marie (Verstratten) Gibbs. On September 13, 1958 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he married Eula Palmer.
Bud served his country in the United States Army from 1954 – 1956. Bud worked in maintenance for Midwest Metals, formerly Gate City Steel, in Davenport for 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and had many other hobbies.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Eula; sons, Terry (Judy Fleischman) Gibbs, Gary Gibbs and Ronny Gibbs, all of Davenport; grandchildren, Korey, Nick, Emily and Carter; great-grandchildren, Julieann, Nolan, Hayden, Karson, Kaitlyn and Ethan; sisters, Mae Garrelts of Torrington, Wyoming, Helen Soule of Gering, Nebraska and Elizabeth (Dwight) Vance of Mitchell, Nebraska; brother, Jack (Shirley) Gibbs Cheyenne, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bob and Pete.
