Carl W. Krell, 79, a resident of Bettendorf, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park in Davenport.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Mayo Clinic or the donor’s choice. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 9, 1935 in Springfield, Illinois, Carl was the son of Alvin, Sr. and Bertha (Sembell) Krell. On August 22, 1954 in Springfield, he married Sherry Lu Farin.
Carl graduated with his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming and obtained his master’s degree from the University of Illinois.
Carl was a CPA and worked for John Deere for 30 years, retiring as Executive of Internal Auditing. He also managed the family farms.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sherry Lu; daughters, Lynn (Rick) Albertson of Woodinville, Washington, Sheryl (Karl) Schroeder of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri and Kindra (Rick) Pridey of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; son, Kevin Krell of San Mateo, California; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alvin Krell, Jr.
