Carol L. Cale, 76, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Riverdale, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Carol was born November 6, 1935 in Cairo, Illinois, the daughter of Jac C. & Hazel E. (Roberts) Lowry.  She was united in marriage to James L. Cale on June 9, 1964 in Fulton, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on December 17, 1984.

She had been employed for many years with the City of Bettendorf.  Carol loved everyone unconditionally and was a mother to all.  A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Todd (Jennifer) Cale of Bettendorf, Wally (Tammy) Cale of Bettendorf, Sherry (Mick) Cale-Tague of Kansas City, Missouri, Patti (Bill) Smith-Bettger of Colorado, Penni (Michael) Smith-Steen of Riverdale, Perri (Athena) Smith of Riverdale and Mike Cale of Missouri;  her grandchildren, Beth, Kelly, Shawn, Ryan, Benjamin, Ian, Kitti, Dan, Dylan, Carolann, Colton, Cody, Dalton, Austin, Jessie, Maegan, Nicholas, Jacee & Jimmy;  and her great-grandchildren, Riley, Tierney, Skylar, Christian, Mackenzie, Mikayla, Ruby, Kellianne, Adeline, Kiersten and Tyler.

In addition to her husband, James, Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Lowry; and her grandson, Paul Mooney, IV.
