Carol R. Groth, 77, of Bettendorf, died Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Davenport Lutheran Home.
Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday December 14, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born January 26, 1939 in Lancaster, Missouri, the daughter of Steve & Vivian (Forsythe) Martin. Carol had held various jobs over the years; beautician, cosmetologist and she most recently had worked the cashier’s window at the Rhythm City Casino. She volunteered many years with Epsilon Sigma Alpha and was previously chapter president. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitch and reading. An avid fan of Elvis Presley she also enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren.
Those left to honor Carol’s memory include her daughter, Brenda Duax of Davenport; her son, Bruce (Nancy) Groth of Pleasant Valley; her grandchildren, Abby, Katie, Curt, Joshua and Anastasia; her brother, Stevie Ray Martin of Portland, Oregon; and a favorite uncle, Roland (Elaine) Forsythe, of Fort Morgan, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a favorite aunt, Alice; and her cats, Sebastian and Sweetie Pie.
