Carol Gustafson

Carol M. Gustafson, 63, of Bettendorf, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Trinity Bettendorf.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Chicago.

Carol was born September 5, 1949 in Milan, Illinois, the daughter of Curtis & Eloise (Miller) Petersen.  She was united in marriage to James L. Gustafson on January 30, 1971 in Milan.

Carol was employed with Sam's Club and previously Kraft Foods of Davenport.  She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, volunteering, reading and watching movies with her husband.  She loved her family and put them first above all else.  Carol was a caring and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, James; her sons, Steve Gustafson, his wife, Angie and their children Emma and Jack, and Kris Gustafson and his fiancée, Kristi Spencer, all of Bettendorf; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Dale Bundy of Rock Island; her brothers, Larry Petersen and his fiancée, Cindy King of Aledo, Walter Petersen and his wife, Alice of Louisville, Kentucky and Mark Petersen of Rock Island; and many nephews and nieces.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Ruth.
