Carol Rankin

Carol A. Rankin, 73, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Trinity UnityPoint Health in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  She will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

She was born in Moline, Illinois on October 8, 1942, the daughter of Rev. Kenneth and Margaret (Long) Nyberg.  She was united in marriage to David Myers and was later united in marriage to Clifton Rankin in Davenport in 1997.  He preceded in death on July 13, 2004.

Carol worked as a sales associate for Younker’s Department Store for 30 years and had also been employed by Candlelight Health Care for 4 years.

Among the things she enjoyed were Christian music, playing the accordion, the piano and the organ. Carol loved the Lord and was a devoted member of the New Life Christian Church.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Michelle Mayer of Davenport; her son Michael Myers of Davenport; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Nancy (Arthur) Leffler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Butenbauch of Bettendorf.

In addition to her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Beth Bartosch; and her sister, Shirley.
