Carole D. Endorf-Heath, 60, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Monday, August 15, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport surrounded by her beloved family after enduring a long & courageous battle with cancer.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 19, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Park, Davenport. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
She was born March 9, 1945 in Davenport, the daughter of Edward & Betty (Prose) Schneider and was a graduate of Bettendorf High School. She was united in marriage to Larry Endorf in Princeton, Iowa on September 28, 1963. She was later united in marriage to Steve L. Heath in Bettendorf on April 28, 1997.
Carole was employed as a sales representative for the Alcoa Company for over 30 years.
She was a tireless advocate for the “Relay for Life” and was the top fund raiser from 1997 to 2004. During last year's Relay, she was honored by being named an “Honorary Survivor.”
Carole & Steve had a great love for classic cars and enjoyed attending and showing their cars at many, many area car shows. She & Steve became friends with many other “classic car” people throughout the years and as a tribute to Carole, anyone wishing to bring their car to be part of the funeral procession to the cemetery would be greatly appreciated.
Camping and fishing were two of Carole's favorite pastimes. She was also an avid animal lover. On the collector car circuits, Carol & Steve made several lasting friendships, as well as bringing home many first place trophies for their 1969 Hemi Road Runner. Carol and Steve were not only husband and wife, but they were each other’s best friend, lover, constant companion, and world. They adored each other extremely. From the moment they met, they had won each other’s affection, love, devotion and admiration. They both knew they had met the person they were meant to be with. The person that would enrich the other. As a couple, they were considered the life of the party. Carole's drive & ambition was never tiring. Her heart, a generous one, was happiest when she could give, rather than receive. Her zest for life was reflected in her wide variety of interests and many friends. Sometimes Carole would push and sometimes Steve would pull, but together they achieved many of their dreams, supporting each other, every step of the way for 22 years. The low periods of life drew them closer and made them more determined to turn those days around and laugh through their tears.
Carole was such a stunning beauty both inside and out. Her smile and humor could light up the darkest corner. Her caring and compassion are quite evident to anyone who had the honor of being her friend.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Steve; her son & daughter-in-law, Eric & Kristi Endorf of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Felisha, Craig & Ashley; her sister, Beverly Noftsker of Bettendorf; her niece, Kimberly McDonald & her husband, Bob of Blue Grass, Iowa; and her nephew, Tim Noftsker & his wife, Linda of Bettendorf.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents.
