Caroline Trujillo

Caroline Trujillo, 78, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Trinity Bettendorf.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 14, 2011 at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church in LeClaire where she was a member.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa where a prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m.  She will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport.  Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the River Catholic Church.

Caroline was born September 7, 1932 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Juan Mejorado & Celestina Hernandez. She was united in marriage to Robert Trujillo on December 14, 1952 in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1996

Caroline was a devoted housewife and mother. She and Robert were chairpersons for the former Mexican-American G.I. Forum of the United States and she also served as an interpreter for the LeClaire Police Department for many years.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Robert Trujillo (Faye Coad) of Moline, Illinois, Michael Trujillo, Timothy (Kristine) Trujillo, Thomas Trujillo, and Joseph Trujillo (Rhonda Neal) all of LeClaire; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Catharine Gonzales of Davenport and Jesse Moody of Davenport.

In addition to her husband, Robert; she was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Clifford Moody; her son, Robert; and five sisters and brothers.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Trinity Bettendorf and the Bettendorf Healthcare Center for all their assistance during this time as their care and comfort is greatly appreciated by the family.
