Carol M. Allender, 53, a resident of Cherokee, Iowa and formerly of Davenport, Iowa died on Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center in Holstein, Iowa following an extended illness.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders Foundation.
She was born June 29, 1954 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Alex & Mary (Garcia) Rocha and was a 1972 graduate of Davenport Central High School and a graduate of the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport. On June 7, 1975, she was united in marriage to Frank J. Allender in Davenport.
Carol was an instrumental part of the growth & success of the Allender Chiropractic Office in Cherokee. She enjoyed exercising, sewing and especially loved the times spent with family. A committed Christian, Carol was an active member of her church as well.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Frank; her daughters, Christine (Kevin) Nordstrom of Bettendorf and Rebecca Allender of Cherokee; her son, Joshua Allender of Cherokee; her grandchildren, Trae Nordstrom, Ameera Nordstrom, Forest Allender and Frankie Jena Allender; her father, Alex Rocha of Davenport; her sisters, Laura (Steve) Wagschal of Davenport and Mary Beth Rocha of Rock Island, Illinois; her brother, Daniel (Joanne) Rocha of Geneseo, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Mary and her brother, David Rocha.
