Carolyn Ann Brown, 69, a resident of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa following an extended illness.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 22, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Pleasant Valley where she was a faithful member.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf and from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday at the church.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Taylorsville Cemetery, Arlington, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was born July 22, 1942 in Arlington, Iowa, the daughter of Fred & Anna (Eden) Burrack.
On June 17, 1989, she was united in marriage to Dale O. Brown at Trinity Lutheran Church of Pleasant Valley.
Prior to her marriage, Carolyn was employed at the LeClaire State Bank of LeClaire, Iowa serving in a variety of capacities until her retirement in 1989. In recent years, she was an active member of the Iowa Department of the Blind Davenport Chapter.
She loved quilting, traveling with her husband around the United States, and spending time with friends and family.
Those left to honor her memory include her beloved husband, Dale; her daughters, Kristine (Aaron) Pugliese of Denver, Colorado and Kim (Kevin) McVey of Midland, Michigan; her grandchildren, Jared & Katelyn McVey and June & Finn Pugliese; her husband’s children, Sandra (Wayne) Bradley of Orlando, Florida, Pat (John) Howe of Ogallala, Nebraska and Dwaine (Julia) Brown of Selah, Washington; their children, Erin, Carrie, Ryan, Jeremy, Zach, Melissa, Andrea, Russell, Thomas, Lindsey, Riley & Sarah; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeanette (Elmer) Wolfgram of Westgate, Iowa; her brothers, Jerry (Mary) Barrack of Maynard, Iowa and David (Sue) Burrack of Arlington, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband’s son, Ron Brown in 1997.
