Carolyn J. Scheibe

Carolyn Scheibe, 70, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on March 22, 2024 in Eldridge, IA. She was born on January 6, 1954 in Yankton, SD to Robert and Gwen (Nichols) Gunderson.

Visitation will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge, IA on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Funeral service will take place at Faith Lutheran Church on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with a luncheon to follow.  Chambers Funeral Home of Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Carolyn and Myron were married in Aberdeen, SD on June 24, 1977. They moved to Ankeny, IA in 1978 and settled in Park View, IA in 1981 to raise their children. Throughout her life, she was extremely involved in her church and the community. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Myron; her children Lisa (Aaron) Tekippe of Urbandale, IA,  Nathan (Michelle) Scheibe of Eldridge, IA, and Mark (Lindsey) Scheibe of Girard, KS; her grandchildren Natalie and Claire Tekippe, Clark and Margo Scheibe, and Ben and Madelyn Scheibe; her brothers Robert Gunderson of Pierre, SD, Dave Gunderson of Pierre, SD, Ron Gunderson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Mike Gunderson of Pierre, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions be made in Carolyn's name to Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge, IA.

The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Gerke at the University of Iowa Hospitals for her care over the course of Carolyn's illness and to Genesis Home Hospice for their care and comfort.
