Carroll Steele

Carroll Hobart Steele, 90, of Davenport, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Mary Healthcare and Rehab Center in Davenport.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend may meet at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
Carroll was born on December 25, 1922.
Carroll worked as a machinist and engineer for the Rock Island Arsenal for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1943 – 1946, stationed in the Philippines. Carroll enjoyed fishing and was a charitable man.
Those left to honor his memory include his friends, Brian Erickson, Candy Wales, Keith and Pat Erickson and Troy Holbrook all of Davenport and Cynthia Swain and her family of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
