Catherine J. Wood

Catherine J. Wood, 75, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at a group home for the elderly in Hillsboro, Oregon.
A memorial service for Mrs. Wood will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 29, 2007 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Keeping with Mrs. Wood’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Catherine Jean Judd was born May 18, 1932 in Davenport, Iowa to Howard Judd and Julia (Springer) Judd. She was united in marriage to Dean M. Wood on August 20, 1954 in Bettendorf.
Mrs. Wood was employed for many years at her in-law’s business, Stewart’s Pharmacy in Bettendorf and Davenport. In later years, she was a homemaker at the family home in Pleasant Valley, Iowa where she enjoyed her flower gardens. After the flood of 2001, she moved with her husband to Bettendorf. She was a loving mother and her joys in life were her grandchildren and her pets.
Survivors include her spouse, Dean; her children, Lynn (Chris) Wood of Tacoma, Washington, Julie (Ken Milder) Wood of Hillsboro, Oregon, Dawn (George) Porter of Hampton, Illinois and Robin (Rodney) Buskirk of Eldridge, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, William Judd.
