Cecile was born in Pleasant Valley, lived a good portion of her life in Argo and retired to Bettendorf in 1985.
Her most important roles were mother and farmwife. Life wasn’t easy for her especially after the tragic passing of her husband, Pete, in 1959, but she carried on with strength and grace. She was known for her exceptional ability to cook and bake. She truly enjoyed feeding others. Ask anyone in the community or any of the many family members and friends that frequented the farmhouse.
She volunteered in the auxiliary at Genesis East for 31+ years. She enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, gardening, attending church, and spending time with family.
