Cecil L. Seibel, 82, a resident of Davenport died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.
Cecil was born August 12, 1926 in Bettendorf the son of John Henry and Ella Martha (Fischer) Seibel Jr.. He was united in marriage to Margaret J. Long on September 9, 1950 in Rock Island, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 10, 2007.
Cecil served in the United States Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked as an auto body technician for Les Fries Auto Body and Schwind-Boeker Auto Body.
He enjoyed RC airplanes, slot machines, traveling, fishing and loved trains.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Barb (Harold) Cutkomp of Davenport; his sons, Larry (Gaylene) Seibel of Roy, Utah, Gary (Kathy) Seibel of Davenport and Bryan (Robin) Seibel of Winter Haven, Florida; his seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Carl, Erwin and Raymond Seibel, his son Bruce Seibel and his grandsons, Little Larry, and CJ.
