Charles L. “Charley” Agan, 75, of Davenport, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family.
Charley was born November 6, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Forest & Hattie (Taylor) Agan. He was united in marriage to Karen K. Roe on June 6, 1959 in Ottumwa.
He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1957 to 1960. Charley was a molder by trade and had most recently driven for Voss Pattern Company. He enjoyed gardening and watching the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. Charley will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather, and loved the time spent with his family.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Karen; his daughters and sons-in-law, Tina & Manuel Zavala of Yuma, Arizona, Debbie & Troy Harmel of Walcott, Iowa and Candy & Robert Appleby of Davenport; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry Agan of Davenport; and his sister, Wanda Prose of Pilot Point, Texas.
Charley was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Agan; and his son, Rickey Agan.
