Funeral services for Charles F. "Chuck" Madden, 77, of Dubuque, Iowa will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial with military honors will be conducted at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  In addition to funeral services, there will be a memorial service at Church of the Nazarene in Dubuque on Saturday January 25th at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Madden passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa.

Charles was born July 29, 1936 in Davenport, the son of Charles M. & Nora (Fee) Madden.  He had served in the United States Army from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1961.  He was united in marriage to Wanda A. Fuller on June 9, 1972 in Davenport.  He was employed at Eastern Iowa Grain Inspection where he worked for 56 1/2 years, including several years after his “retirement”.

Among his interests were fishing, camping, shooting, woodworking, leatherworking, reading, gardening, and feeding the birds in his yard.  He especially loved his family, picking on his wife, Wanda, and doting on his grandchildren.  Chuck also enjoyed having a cup of coffee with his friend, Jim.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Wanda; his daughters and sons-in-law, Tawana & Troy Rowe of Wapello, Iowa, Miona Madden and her companion, Mary Lou Stoops of Des Moines, Iowa and Kathleen & Kevin Walters of Severn, Maryland; his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles J. & Ella Madden of Muscatine, Iowa, Kevin Madden and his wife, Lee McEvoy of Dubuque and Thomas Madden of Dubuque; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren with one on the way; his sisters, Miona Morrell of Davenport and Elizabeth (Richard) Malone of Bettendorf;  his sister-in-law, Patricia Madden of Davenport; many nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mike Madden; his brother-in-law, Roger Morrell; his mother and father-in-law, Dorothy & Ward Fuller; his previous wife, Patricia; and his step-son, Ricky Garrison.
