Charles E. “Chuck” Myers, 68, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until the time of service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or Genesis VNA Hospice.
Chuck was born August 15, 1940 in Jacksonville, Illinois the son of Howard Leroy and Rilla Lucille (Eller) Myers. He was united in marriage to Elaine Portz on July 2, 1971 in Princeton, Iowa.
He retired in 2002 and enjoyed spending his time woodworking, working in his yard, painting, drawing and he loved repairing bicycles.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Elaine; his daughters, Kelly D. Myers of Davenport, Traci R. McGill of Eldridge, Iowa, Cindy (James) Young of Bettendorf, Elta “Beth” Johnson of Jacksonville, Illinois, Angela (Larry) Crum of Roodhouse, Illinois and Marcie (Steve) Brock of Jacksonville; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; his sisters, Rilla Kay (William) Brusven of Geneseo, Illinois and Tammy Myers of Crossville, Tennessee; his brothers, Richard (Stephanie) Myers of Jacksonville, Loren (Judy) Myers of Jacksonville, Robert Edwards of Silvis, Illinois and Truel Myers of Callaway Gardens, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Donna Maher and two great-grandchildren.
