Charles Junior Lankford, 55, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born June 12, 1949 in Trenton, Missouri, the son of Wendell O. & Frances M. (Payne) Lankford.
Charles was an avid fan of stock car racing and enjoyed life to the fullest extent.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Amanda M. Lankford of Davenport; his step-son, Shane Gibson of Davenport; his mother, Frances M. Clark of Bettendorf; his sister, Donna S. Clark of Davenport; his nieces, Sheila Kargle, Lisa Clark & Teresa Clark; and his nephew, Scott Clark.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Wendell.
