Charles J. "Chuck" Clemitus

Charles J. “Chuck” Clemitus, 67, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Friday, February 24, 2006 surrounded by his beloved family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf where a prayer service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Funeral mass to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport where he was a member. Interment will be private.
He was born April 8, 1938 in Crystal Falls, Michigan, the son of Joseph & Connie Clemitus. On October 18, 1958, he was united marriage to Sharon A. Rutkowski in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Chuck was a foreman at Sivyer Steel Company of Bettendorf for 39 ½ years, retiring in 1996.
His memberships included the Antique Ford Club and the RCIC Investment Club. An avid golfer and bowler, he actively participated in the Senior Golf League and the Double Dozen Bowling League. For the past 10 years, he enjoyed serving as a marshal at the John Deere Golf Classic. He liked to play bridge, blackjack and loved a good cribbage game with his family & friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sharon; his daughters, Susan and Beth Clemitus, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his granddaughter, Alison; and his brother John Clemitus & family of Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
