Charles & Rosalie Van Theemsche of Largo, FL, formerly of Bettendorf, died November 6, 2011 and June 25, 2012, respectively.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. A memorial has been established in their memory.

Rosalie was born February 12, 1923 in Bettendorf, the daughter of Louis & Elsie (Gruenau) Fleck.  Charles was born May 31, 1923 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Alfred & Edith (Putman) Van Theemsche.  Charles & Rosalie were united in marriage on September 21, 1946 in Davenport, Iowa.

Those left to honor their memory include their son, Terry Van Theemsche of Largo; their grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Van Theemsche of Davenport, Brian Van Theemsche and Lisa Van Theemsche, both of Los Lunas, New Mexico and Timothy (Anna) Van Theemsche of King George, Virginia; their great-grandchildren, Maggie Jo Van Theemsche of Davenport and Kurgan Van Theemsche of King George, Virginia; Rosalie’s sister, Shirley Schwerdtfeger; Rosalie’s brother, Jack Fleck; Charles’s sister, Phyllis Sackett; Charles’ half-sister, Helen Brotherton; and Charles’s brother, Donald Van Theemsche.

They were preceded in death by their sons, Dennis Van Theemsche in 2007 and Ronald Van Theemsche in 2008; and their daughter & granddaughter, Toni Wade & Michelle Wade in 1972.  In addition, Rosalie brothers, Pete Fleck and Henry Fleck preceded her in death.
