Christina Sue Rigby, 33, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa following a courageous year-long battle with leukemia.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Chambers Funeral Home of Eldridge. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for an educational fund for her sons.

She was born June 12, 1978 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Roger Rigby and Sue (Shafer) Rigby. Christina graduated from North Scott High School in 1996 and from Scott Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Administration.

She worked as an administrative assistant until her health began to fail last year.

Her sons, nieces & nephews were the joy of her life and whenever they we’re involved in sporting events, she was there.

Those left to honor her memory include her beloved sons, Mason & McKeagon; her mother & step-father, Sue & Glen Marston of Marquand, Missouri; her father, Roger Rigby of Pocahontas, Iowa; her sisters, Kim (Mike) McLaughlin of DeWitt, Iowa, Angela (Eric) Koberg of Eldridge and Jessica Rigby of Pocahontas; her grandmother, Alice Shafer of Rock Island, Illinois; her nieces & nephews, Jacob, Madelyn, Sadie, Kenzie, Haidyn & Sawyer; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lloyd Shafer, her grandparents, John & Dorothy Rigby and her uncle, Jim Shafer.
