Christine Helm

Christine Helm, 87, a resident of Bettendorf, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Visitation will be 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home Bettendorf. Private family graveside services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.
Christine was born February 7, 1930 in Augsburg, Germany the daughter of Josef and Christine (Berthold) Kugle. She married Ralph E. Helm, Sr. in Augsburg, Germany. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2013.
Christine was a homemaker. She loved gardening, her favorite flowers being roses and African violets. She enjoyed going to casinos and spending time with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include two sons, Ed (Tu) Helm of Bettendorf and Bob (Cheryl) Helm of Blue Grass; one daughter, Evelyn (Harold) Hennings of Park View; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott), Tony (Tricia), Steve, Ricky, Kyle (Meghan) and Cory; four great-grandchildren, Haylee, Hayden, Camdyn, and Maya.
In addition to her husband, Christine was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Ann and Stasi.
