Christopher M. Saldivar, 46, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Thursday, December 18, 2003 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2003 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf where a prayer service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born February 1, 1957 in Davenport, the son of Margarito S. & Celia B. (Ulloa) Saldivar. On December 2, 1978, he was united in marriage to Debby A. Jackson in Bettendorf.
Christopher was formerly employed for 15 years as a machinist for Bowe Machine in Bettendorf.
He was a graduate of Bettendorf High School and attended Hamilton Technical College in Davenport.
Christopher was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Muscian’s Union. He was an accomplished drummer and served as a D.J. for a number of years at local dances & other functions.
For many years, he coached soccer and baseball for the Bettendorf Park Board and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Bears.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Debby; his daughter, Patty Saldivar of Davenport; his sons, Brandon & Joel Saldivar, both of Bettendorf; his grandson, Kole Saldivar; his mother, Celia Saldivar of Bettendorf; his sisters & brothers-in-law, Marcy & Jerry Wickersham and Joyce & Dick Eckstrand, all of Davenport and Cindy & Mike Smith of Bettendorf; and his brothers & sister-in-law, Victor L. & Silvia Saldivar of Springfield, Ohio and Skip Saldivar of Bettendorf.
He was preceded in death by his father.
