Christopher P. Ewoldt

Christopher P. Ewoldt, 45, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died on Friday, May 9, 2008 at his home following a sudden & unexpected illness.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Faith Lutheran Church of Eldridge where he was a member. The family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
He was born February 19, 1963 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Gary & Shirley (Hansen) Ewoldt and was a 1981 graduate of North Scott High School. On November 10, 1989, he was united in marriage to Colleen K. Claussen at Old St. Ann’s Church in Long Grove, Iowa.
Christopher owned & operated Ewoldt’s Wood Products, following his father, grandfather & great-grandfather in the business.
Ham radio was a favorite activity of Christopher’s and his fellow radio enthusiasts knew him as “KA0BLT.”
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Colleen; his parents, Shirley Ewoldt of Eldridge and Gary (Carol) Ewoldt of Eldridge; his grandparents, Arno & Melvia Ewoldt of Eldridge and Lucille Hansen of Salem, Oregon; his sisters, Kim (Stan) Hartman of Chandler, Arizona and Pam (Daniel) Witt of Loveland, Colorado; his parents-in-law, Don & Nancy Claussen of Eldridge; his sisters-in-law, Connie (Chuck) Zachrich of Littleton, Colorado and Cheryl (Aaron) Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his brother-in-law, Craig (Kathy) Claussen of Des Moines, Iowa; his step-sisters, Melissa (Jesse) Feinkind of Chicago, Illinois and Rebecca Goetzke of Livorno, Italy; and his nieces & nephews, Lindsey, Shelby, Ben, Rianna, Ashlee, Rachel, Claire, Lance & Domineck.
His grandfather, Don Hansen preceded him in death.
