Christopher Sanchez Carrillo, 81, a resident of Bettendorf died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
As per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded and services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Christopher was born June 27, 1927 in Los Angeles, California the son of Jose A. and Rosa (Sanchez) Carrillo. He was united in marriage to Theresa Bruckmayr in Salzburg, Austria in September of 1954. During that time, Christopher was stationed in Austria in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged a number of years later.
He was a retiree of International Harvester. He enjoyed cooking for his family, being outdoors, working on cars, modifying his household and tinkering with things. He was very kind to people and was concerned with the care of others.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Sandra Carrillo, Davenport, Ingrid (William) Gerth, Eldridge, Iowa, Elvira (Grant) Ray, South Africa, Christine (Guy) Carroll, Rotonda, Florida and Irene Carrillo, Chicago, Illinois; his son, Christopher A. Carrillo, Rock Island, Illinois; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sisters, Helen Camarena, New Jersey, Margaret McDevitt, Davenport, Juanita Carrillo, Bettendorf, Rita Carrillo, Bettendorf, Rose (Al) Beh, Davenport and Rachel (Gene) Kraus, Davenport; his brothers, Joseph (Linda) Carrillo, Bettendorf, Ruben (Sandy) Carrillo, Arizona and Richard Carrillo, Davenport; his sister-in-law Melissa Carrillo, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Rodolfo “Rudy” Carrillo, his sister, Elvira Carrillo, his brother-in-law, Manuel and an infant brother.
