Cindy (Brown) Kleckner, 52, a resident of Milan, Illinois and formerly of Princeton, Iowa was welcomed into her heavenly home on Wednesday morning after a year-long courageous battle with cancer. Pathway Hospice helped Cindy & her family in making a very difficult time a little easier to bear.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2003 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Princeton. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice. Following the burial, the family will greet friends and relatives at Boll’s Community Center in Princeton.
She was born May 12, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne & Diana (Carter) Brown and was a 1969 graduate of North Scott High School, Eldridge, Iowa. On November 12, 1994, she was united in marriage to Larry D. Kleckner in Princeton.
Cindy was employed as a checker at Hy-Vee Foods in Milan.
She took great pride and pleasure in caring for others and will always be fondly remembered for the loving & caring person she was.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Larry; her son, Jeffrey Brown of Milan; her mother, Diana Brown of Milan; her sisters & brothers-in-law, Vicky & Steve Barnard of Lutz, Florida, Barbara Dell of Princeton and Gloria Gravert of LeClaire, Iowa; her brothers & sisters-in-law, Kenny & Brenda Brown of Bettendorf and Rick & Cheri Brown of Cordova, Illinois; her “special” brother, Andrew Carter of Davenport; her nieces, Chastity Schindler & her husband, Steve, Emily Austin & her husband, Stephen and Nicole Brown; her nephews, J. R. Brown, Zachary Brown, Justin Brown, Kyle Brown, Bradley Brown, PFC Brandon Quigley, (serving in the U.S. Army in Baghdad), SSG Kevin Brown (serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan), Kyle Brown (serving in the U.S. Coast Guard) and Joshua Dell; her father-in-law, Frank Kleckner of Coal Valley, Illinois; her brother-in-law, Gary Kleckner of Rantoul, Illinois; her special caregiver & cousin, Polly Carter of Milan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and treasured friends.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Brown; her brother, Wayne “Bud” Brown; and her mother-in-law, Ramona Kleckner.
