Clara O. “Jayne” Wolf, 92, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport,
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Bettendorf First Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church.
Jayne was born August 7, 1917 in Monkey Run, Missouri, the daughter of Elmer & Jayne (Cartright) Smith. She was united in marriage to Harold H. Wolf on July 23, 1935 in Delaware, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1983.
Jayne was a matron with the Bettendorf School System for many years. She had also worked in retail sales at the former Ben Franklin store in Bettendorf and Kreskies in Davenport. She was very active in her church where she taught Sunday school, participated in the nursery department and was a member of the Ladies Bible study and Women’s Missionary Group. She enjoyed crocheting and reading in her spare time.
Those left to honor her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Virgil & Judy Wolf of Blue Grass; her grandchildren, Shari (Tom) Brophy, Vicki (Randy) Day, Tamara Wolf, Jennifer (Jeff) Wright and Nicholas (Donielle) Palomo; her great-grandchildren, Megan Brophy, Nicholas Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Tiffany (Anthony) Prilipp, Bailey Wright, Reuben Palomo, Ella Palomo and Edward Palomo; her great-great-grandson, Anthony Chris Prilipp; her niece, Bette Jean Fox; her half-sister, Dottie Tatman; and her daughter-in-law Mary Jane Wolf.
In addition to her husband, Harold, Jayne was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Buck; and her brothers, James, Guy, Carsen, Clyde and Robert Smith.
