Clarence A. “Scotty” Stotlar II, 61, of Bettendorf, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Scotty was born August 9, 1951 in Davenport, the son of Clarence Sr. & Betty (Krau) Stotlar.  He had served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.

He had been a truck driver for many years. He had also been a repo man and had worked for a towing company.

He enjoyed fishing and attending demolition derbies.  Scott will be remembered as liking to help people.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Georgia (Jamey) Shoppa of Carbon Cliff, Illinois, Misty Stotlar of Hammond, Indiana, Christin VanPelt of Colona, Illinois, Harley Montegna of Davenport and Bradey (Cassandra) Nicewanner of Davenport; his grandchildren, Jamey Jr., Emerson, Hannah, Savanna, Helena, Lexi and Abbie; his sister, Susan Dobbins of Davenport; his brothers, Mike Stotlar of Bettendorf and Mark Stotlar of Davenport; and many step-children and step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Evelyn; his sister, Colleen; and his daughter, Tamara Lynn Stotlar.
