Clayton Dale Lane

Memorial services for Clayton Dale Lane, 77, of Princeton, IA, will be 2:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA. Family will greet friends on Friday from 1:00 pm to service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL at a later date.

Clayton passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at his home in Princeton, IA.

Clayton was born on October 5, 1945, in Jacksonville, Fl, the son of Ira and Louella (Diedrichs) Lane. He married Pamela Leak from 1974 to 1999, they were later divorced. He then married Beverly J. Lyons in August of 1999 in Moline, IL. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2015. Clayton worked at John Deere for 10 years while also owning Clayton Electrical from 1974-2001.

Clayton served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and working on his house. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Anna Lane and her fiancé, Jack Bates of Davenport, Sonya (Dan) Wailand of Jacksonville, FL, Melissa (Thomas Humphreys) Lane of San Antonio, TX, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and sister, Darlene (Anthony) Papa of Jacksonville Beach, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters, Ira Leda Lane and Judith Ann Lane and granddaughter, Sonya Kelly Lane.
