Cleova H. Froeschle, 81, a resident of Bettendorf, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Bettendorf Christian Church or to the family.
Cleova was born February 12, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jake & Henrietta (Dietz) Smith.
During World War II, Cleova served in the U.S. Army in the Women’s Army Corps. She was honorably discharged in 1944.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Froeschle on December 3, 1944. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2004.
Cleova had worked for the former Case Company in Bettendorf, the Walcott I-80 truck stop, and, along with her husband, had operated pilot vehicles for highway transportation. Cleova enjoyed playing Bingo and, in earlier years, enjoyed music and dancing.
Those left to honor her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Shari Froeschle, Bettendorf; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, George and Clyde; and her grandsons, Wayne and George, Jr.
