Clifford Burroughs

Clifford “Cliff” P. Burroughs, 64, of Riverdale, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at UnityPoint Trinity Bettendorf.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date per the family’s request. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Humane Society of Scott County in Clifford’s name.

Born on November 17, 1953, Clifford was the son of Clyde and Delores (Snyder) Burroughs, and spent his childhood alongside his twin brother, Chester. He was a 1973 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School. In October of 1999, Cliff was united in marriage to Lois Johnson.

Cliff worked at the family business, S&W manufacturing, where he learned how to weld. He continued his welding talent at the J.I. Case Company, and the Rock Island Arsenal. He retired from Case and continued to work at S&W Manufacturing up until his death. He was a snowbird and was an avid traveler, frequenting the gulf coast. Clifford enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Lois; his daughters, Jamie and Stacie Burroughs; two grandchildren, Rowen and Dylan Burroughs, his twin brother Chester (Dana) Burroughs; and his niece, Amy (Burroughs) (Wade) Ashlock.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents.
