Without the need for a brace or cane, Cory Gene Logan, 31, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa walked into the welcoming arms of his Lord and grandfather in Heaven on Thursday, April 30th at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 4, 2009 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. He will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Port Bryon, Illinois. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born February 16th 1978 at what was then called Mercy Hospital in Davenport. He graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1997. He enjoyed employment in the sales field until he was stricken with a stroke at the age of 26. He was unable to overcome a second massive stroke he suffered this past week.
He is survived by his beloved pets Max and Oreo; his parents, Jamie and Lonnie Logan; his sister, Amy Lynn (John) Mason; his grandmother, Jean Meer; his nephew, Austin Logan Mason; his nieces, Cassidy Taylor Mason & Madison Noel Mason, all of Bettendorf; his uncles, Clifford (Barbra) Logan of Lansing Michigan, Robert Logan of Sarasota Florida; his aunts, Lora (Monty) Dunscombe of Bettendorf, Iowa, Cathy (Art) Abend of St. Paul, Minnesota, Gary (Cheryl) Moore of Rapid City, Illinois, Shirley (Gene) Waddsager of East Moline, Illinois, Allen (Marie) Breese of Bena, Minnesota, Leanna (Alec Vance) Breese of Kenwood, California and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather & great-grandmother, Donald & Iola Breese of Iowa City, Iowa; his grandfather, Gene Meer Bettendorf and his grandmother, Sally Carr of Moline, Illinois.
The family would like to express our deepest thanks to those who supported us in our hours of need. We would especially like to commend the nursing staff at Genesis West for their compassion and undying devotion to our son in his final days.
