Cynthia Del “Cyndee” Hellwig, 64, a resident of Davenport, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at her home.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on September 9, 1952 in Oswego, Kansas, Cyndee was the daughter of Harold and Darlene (Miksch) Hellwig.
Cyndee worked as a physical education teacher for Trinity Lutheran Schools in Davenport for 26 years as well as for schools in Las Vegas, Nevada and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She enjoyed canoeing and sports, including softball, golf and tennis.
Those left to honor her memory include her partner, Patricia Wang of Davenport; her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Helen Hellwig of Solomon, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Phil and Essie Hellwig and Forrest and Ruth Miksch.
