Dale E. Muhl, 84, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Manor Care Health Facility, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 14, 2006 at Pleasant View Baptist Church, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial with military honors will be conducted at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Dale was born October 10, 1921 in Toronto, Iowa, the son of Edward & Lucile (Klieber) Muhl. During World War II and the Korean Conflict, he served in United States Marine Corps and later in the Marine Reserves. He was united in marriage to Louise L. Davis on April 26, 1952 in East Moline, Illinois.
Dale retired in 1980 from Erickson Chevrolet in Milan, Illinois as a salesman. Previously, he had worked with Warren L. Langwith Pontiac/Cadillac in Davenport and as a Ford dealer in Wilton, Iowa. He also had been employed by the Rock Island Arsenal.
His memberships included the Schuetzen Shooting Club, the National Rifle Association, and he had achieved the rank of 32nd Degree Mason.
He enjoyed Iowa Hawkeyes basketball, watching The Price is Right, and the Lawrence Welk show.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Louise; his daughters, Janine Muhl, of Bettendorf and Lynette Calavaza and her husband, Farley, of Zuni, New Mexico; and his son, Wyatt Muhl.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
