Darlene Meyer

Darlene J. Meyer, 85 of Bettendorf, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at her home.

A visitation for Darlene will be held Monday, February 19, 2018 from 4:00 p.m.  - 6:00 p.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Private graveside services will follow at a later date. Memorial contributions in Darlene’s memory may be made to the family.

Darlene was born June 15, 1932 in DeWitt, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Katherine Porthon. She was united in marriage to Raymond H. Meyer in DeWitt in 1961. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2006.

Darlene was a homemaker, and found joy in sewing, reading, embroidery, and camping.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Joyce Meyer of Bettendorf; sons, Roger (Debra) Meyer of Dubuque, and Scott (Penny) Meyer, of Bellevue, Iowa; grandchildren, Emily Ann, and Katie Lynn; and three great-grandchildren, William, Asher, and Genevieve.

In addition to her husband, Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Annabelle; and her brothers, Ralph and Butch.
