Darlene Rosenthal

Darlene M. Rosenthal, 62, a resident of Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Rock Island, Illinois died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at her home.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Cook Legacy Village, 100 S. Pine St. in Davenport.  Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Society or the Quad-City Animal Welfare Center of Milan, Illinois in memory of Darlene's beloved dogs, "Chance" and "Sadie".  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born in Rock Island, Illinois on July 16, 1955, the daughter of Louis and Dorothy (Skauby) Menting and was a graduate of Alleman High School in Rock Island.  Darlene retired in 2015 from the Rock Island Water Treatment Plant where she had been a faithful employee for 38 years.

Darlene enjoyed doing cross-stitch, had a special and abiding love for animals and loved going on short trips.  She took great care and pride in her many plants and always enjoyed visiting her many former co-workers at the water treatment plant.

Those left to honor her memory include her brother, Michael (Candy) Menting of Moline; her close & special friend, Russell Thomas of Blue Grass, Iowa; and all of her beloved co-workers she worked with over the years.

Her parents preceded her in death.
