Darrell passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
Darrell was born on February 6, 1930, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Hannah (Forsberg) Moore and spent his childhood in Ames, Iowa. He married Dianne Kroeger on December 26, 1961, at Bettendorf Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Iowa State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts and Master of Vocational Education.
He taught Industrial Arts for 33 years, with the majority of his teaching career at Bettendorf High School which included coaching football, basketball, and also serving as an athletic trainer. In 1965, he received the Outstanding Young Educator Award from the Bettendorf Jaycees. Mr. Moore retired in 1989. Darrell’s hobbies included camping, restoring RVs, and carpentry. He was proud to have built his house for his family. He served in the US Army from 1951-1953, during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne of LeClaire, Iowa; daughters, Danette (Alan) Willeford of Hopewell Junction, New York, Daileen Sands of LeClaire, Iowa and Deanna Moore of Bettendorf.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, James and Edward Moore.
