Darrell Ridgeway

Darrell E. Ridgeway, 66, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Trinity UnityPoint Health in Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 13, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home.  There will be no burial as cremation rites will be accorded.  Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Darrell was born July 18, 1948 in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Jay & Helen (Manning) Ridgeway.  He was united in marriage to Janice M. Tometich on October 13, 1973 in Bettendorf.

Darrell was employed with Bear Manufacturing in earlier years.  He was retired from Americold where he had worked for thirty-seven years.

He enjoyed gardening and yard work, fishing and working on cars.  Darrell also enjoyed the company of his dog, “Little Bit” and especially the time spent with his grandchildren.

Those remaining to honor his memory include his wife, Jan; his daughters and sons-in-law, Carie & Michael Rohm of Bettendorf and Stephanie & Chad Gainey of Milan, Illinois; his granddaughters, Cassidy and Brooklyn Rohm and Taylor Gainey; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie & Steve Digman of Davenport; his brother and sister-in-law, Dean & Pat Ridgeway of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Doris; and his brother, Don.
