David Leroy Carlson, 66, of Davenport, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Davenport Lutheran Home in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pleasant Valley. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Lutheran Home or to the family for the purchase of a headstone.
David was born on May 27, 1945 in Davenport, the son of Lawrence and Adeline (Brumwell) Carlson. He married Janice Halterman. He then married Debbie Humes. David worked in sales for a majority of his life. He enjoyed raising homing pigeons. David was an avid pool shark, a local legend. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in DeWitt.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Scott (Leah) Carlson of Davenport and Christopher (Chulsey) Carlson of Springville, UT; daughter, Desra (Ryan) Mccomas of Peoria, AZ; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Carter of Princeton; one brother, Edward Carlson of Grand Mound.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard; and his step-mother, Ruth.
