David Lagrone

David O. Lagrone, 81, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21 st at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
Born on February 4, 1933 in Steens, MS, David was the son of Emmett and Letha Marie (Holder) Lagrone. On November 29, 1952 in Davenport, he was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Steffen.
David was an auto body repairman for over 40 years. He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Davenport. David enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and traveling. He also enjoyed attending car shows and cherished his time spent with family.
Those left to honor his memory include, his daughters, Michele Lind of Englewood, Florida and Janene (Rick) Shannon of Lost Nation, Iowa; his sons, Lannie (Christy) Lagrone of Blue Grass, Iowa and Craig (Denise) Lagrone of Roscoe, Illinois; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and one
sister.
