David G. McManus

David G. McManus 92, died at home on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

David was born June 12th, 1932, in Clinton, Iowa and was the son of Virgil K. and Mary H. Gertsen McManus. He married Geraldine ”Geri” Horkans. David served in The United States Army in Korea during the war. David retired in 1989 from International Harvester after many years of service.

David lived in Pleasant Valley for 66 years and enjoyed his home and family. He enjoyed gardening, wildlife, and nature. David was also an avid reader enjoying the classics as well as current and future science. David especially enjoyed all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. David’s children include Valerie J. McManus, Kevin A. McManus (deceased), and Mark A. McManus. David will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor to his final days. Grandchildren especially enjoyed his stories of his childhood and life told in vivid detail at times.

Survivors include his children Valerie J. McManus, Wilton, Mark McManus (Deborah), Bettendorf. Grandchildren; Brandyn, Patrick, Davy, Rose, Nicholas, and Jason. Also, Great Grandchildren Aidyn and Aya, Jackson and Mila, Fallon and Finnley.

A private family event will be held to celebrate David’s life.
