David Nelson

David Allen Nelson, 67, of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 13, 2016, at his home.

There will be no visitation.   His remains were cremated and a private service will be Aug. 25, 2016, at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dave was born Feb. 5, 1949, in Moline, to Vera and August Nelson.  Dave attended Moline schools and graduated from Moline High School.  He then entered the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for six years.  After his release from the service, he began his career at John Deere where he worked, up until his retirement.

Dave married Brenda Oliver in Moline.  They were blessed with a son, Sean.  They later divorced.

Dave is survived by his son, Sean Nelson (Angie) of Rock island; brother, Dr. Richard Nelson (Marguerite) of Moline; and nephew, Jeff Nelson, Wilmington, North Carolina.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Randall Nelson; and nephew, John Nelson.
