David A. King, 46, of Davenport, died Thursday, January 3, 2008, as a result of a snowmobile accident.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. A Memorial Service will be held, 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 9, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Dave, the son of Jerry King & JoAnn (Mekshes) Burns, was born March 25, 1961 in Davenport. He was the owner and operator of King’s Tree Service.
Dave was a motorcycle enthusiast and regularly attended the annual Chief Blackhawk Chapter of the American Motorcycle Club Fall National Swap Meet. Dave always enjoyed spending time in the outdoors motorcycle riding, hunting, and ice fishing with his friends and family.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Aaren King & Daniel King, both of Davenport; his grandchildren, Austen, Amari and Amiere; parents JoAnn & Richard Burns, of Moline, and Jerry & Debbie King, of Davenport; grandfather, Gerald King, Sr., of Davenport; sisters, Barb (Dierk) Halverson, of Coon Rapids, Iowa , Suellyn (Michael) Mangels, of Davenport, and Michelle (Randy) Hamann, of Davenport; his special friend, Val Baughman, of Davenport; loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gertrude King, Davenport; and his grandfather, Frank Mekshes, Bettendorf.
