David L. Dickey

David R. Dickey, 17, of Moline, Illinois, died suddenly of natural causes on Friday, April 3, 2009 at his home.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
David was born October 25, 1991 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Jennifer L. Mason & Scott D. Dickey. He was a junior at Moline High School where he was enrolled in the building trades department in “D-Wing”.
He loved to work with his hands and had an interest in gadgets in general. One of David’s gifts was the ability to make people smile and laugh and he would lighten up any room. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Jennifer (Gregg Scott), of Moline, and his father, Scott, of Kewanee, Illinois; his sister, Shae Dickey, of Moline; his brothers, PFC Andrew (Abbey) Dickey, of North Carolina, Brian Small, of Iowa City, Iowa, Steven Scott, of Moline and David Gregory Scott, of Moline; his grandparents, Richard & Cheryl Dickey of Bettendorf and Dennis Scott of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; his uncles, Joe (Heather) Mason, of Iraq, John (Amy) Mason of Bettendorf, Todd Dickey of Bettendorf, and SW2 Jeff Dickey, of Norfolk, Virginia; his nephew, Mason Rocker; his great-aunt, Kathleen (Mel) Arp, of Eldridge, Iowa; and a close family friend, Rebecca Condor.
David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, David & Carol Mason.
