David T. Myers

David Thayer Myers, 73, a resident of Bettendorf died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Services will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Bethel Assembly of God, Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf and also one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
David was born June 9, 1935 in Davenport, the son of Alva & Florence (Tyler) Myers. He was united in marriage to Carol Nyberg on June 9, 1962 in Rock Island.
He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for 30 years and was very proud of his time there. The railroad was his passion and in later years he enjoyed collecting railroad memorabilia and keeping up with the current technology. He was also an avid sports fan especially the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Michelle Mayer of Milan, Illinois and Beth (Mike) Bartosch of Davenport; his son, Michael (Heidi) Myers of Davenport; his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his sister, Marilyn Buntenbach of Bettendorf; Carol Myers of Davenport and several cousins, nieces and nephews
His parents and his brother Daniel Myers preceded him in death.
