Dean Sindt

Dean Sindt, 65, a resident of Buffalo, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at his residence.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Dean was born December 13, 1946 in Long Grove, Iowa, the son of Albert & Gladys (Olson) Sindt. He was united in marriage to Kay A. Bock on October 15, 1994 in Sterling, Illinois.

He had been employed at Sears and Long’s Manufacturing in recent years. He enjoyed attending auctions and buying cars to repair and restore. He had also enjoyed duck hunting and panning for gold.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Kay; his sons, Dave & Scott Sindt; his daughters, Sherry Otto, Dawn Sindt; his step-daughters, Lynnette Shaw and Jessica McIntyre; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sisters, Lucille Dipple, Rosemary Dipple, Janice Estabrook, Sandra Fisher and Cynthia Sindt; and his brothers, Ervin, Allen, Warren, Larry, Jerry, Gale, Albert, Daniel and Lyle Sindt.

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne & Kenneth.
