Dean O. Price

Dean O. Price, 61, of Davenport, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
Dean was born January 8, 1947 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Robert & Mardine (Wells) Price. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. On July 15, 1973 he was united in marriage to Rita L. Norman in Moline, Illinois. They would have celebrated their 35th anniversary in July. Dean had been employed as an inspector at Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf for several years, retiring 20 years ago.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 34 years, Rita; his daughters, Amy (Cory) VanDeWalle, of Davenport, Heather Price (Richard Ramsay) of Colona, Illinois, and Alice Price, of Davenport; his sons, Garret Price and Jason Price, both of Davenport; 13 grandchildren; his brothers, Douglas (Karen) Price, Steven (Julie) Price and Roger (Cher) Price, all of Iowa City; and several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded in death by his father; Robert; and his grandson, Garret Dean Michael Price.
The family would like to express special thanks to Randy and Irma Cook and the nurses and doctors of the ICU Unit at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus for all their care during this time.
