Debra Coons

Debra A. Coons, 60, of Port Byron, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.  The family encourages all in attendance to wear their favorite NFL jersey or casual attire. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Debra was born May 30, 1955 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Tom & Stella (Hill) Aiello.  She was united in marriage to Roy W. Coons Sr. on August 23, 1991 in Davenport.

She was retired as a machinist from Alcoa. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, traveling and fishing.  Debra also was a Oakland Raiders fan, she attended Quad-City Mallard games and supported high school football.

Those left to honor Debra’s memory include her husband, Roy; her children, Matthew (Brooke) Coons of Bettendorf , Dustin (Katie) Coons of Moline, Illinois, Terri (Joe) Elliff of Woodhull, Illinois, Casey (Tammy) Coons of Joslin, Illinois, Roy (Katie) Coons Jr. of Colona, Illinois and Harold (Kimberly) Coons of East Moline, Illinois; 18 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren;  her brothers, Jay Aiello of Davenport and Scott Aiello of Rock Island, Illinois; her brother-in-law, Bob Wiebenga of Rock Island; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Carol DeBord of Hillsdale, Illinois.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents.
