Delores Burroughs

Funeral services for Delores I. Burroughs, 89, of Riverdale, will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, July 14, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County.

Ms. Burroughs passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at her home in Riverdale.

Delores was born May 7, 1928 in Davenport, the daughter of Ivan & Rose (Heindl) Snyder.  She was a graduate of Central High School in Davenport.

She owned and operated S & W Manufacturing in Riverdale from 1963 until her retirement in 2010.  The company was founded by her father in 1939.

A charter member of the township of Riverdale, Delores will be remembered as an avid gardener and birdwatcher.  She welcomed anyone into her home and was glad to cook meals for all.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford & Lois Burroughs and Chester & Dana Burroughs, all of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Stacie Burroughs, Jamie Burroughs and Amy (Wade) Ashlock; and her great-grandchildren, Dylan Burroughs, Rowen Burroughs and Grayson Ashlock.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Larry Snyder and Arnold Snyder.
